HaHa! The more you learn the more you realize what you don't know. :-)

I just did some rummaging and found a couple more 39mm ones in the bottom of a box. In the space a couple of days I have now seen small wheel parts with left and right lock screws and wide/narrow bodies.

It's a wonderful world of variety out there in Honda land.

That tensioner uses a 9mm center pin, compared with the 10mm of the others. Cappelini offers both sizes of replacement pin so there must be some 'out there'. Yours and the single one I had are the only two I have seen. Must pay more attention if I strip any more engines.

Thanks G man, I'm on a limited budget so it will take a while but i have a nice barn find CB-77 just needs a little tlc.

A limited budget can be a good thing. It leads to good decisions. I think that a lot of parts get thrown away in the name of 'perfection'. If you do that you need to know what perfection is.....

Always good to see pictures of people's projects.

I spent an interesting hour this afternoon with Alan W and his twin brother from Australia Honda Brian. Brian brought me a very interesting early crankcase top cover. The number area is unstamped and both smaller and in a different location than later cases. It does not have the 'anti-tamper' dimpled surface that later cases have.

Here it is compared with the 'universal' sand-cast case (also unstamped) I picked up a while back and a 1961 CB72 case in the background. Interestingly, neither of the number areas on these two cases would be long enough for the number on that '61 case.....
