1967 CB77 Transmission Issue
1967 CB77 Transmission IssueI am having an issue with my 1967 CB77 transmission. It doesn't turn over smoothly and when you add pressure to the bearing it becomes harder to turn the transmission over. The bearing also has up and down movement when it is rotated. I replaced the kickstart spindle because I thought the original had a slight bend in it and that was the problem, but it didn't fix it.
Here is a link to a video I uploaded to Youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5tS6JiA ... e=youtu.be What should I be checking for? Thanks for any advice.
Re: 1967 CB77 Transmission IssueI recommend you check the actual location of EVERY gear.
I think you have gears in the wrong location. ................lm
I changed the location of the two gears that do not have the C clips with the wire ring and it made the transmission worse, you could not even get the kickstart spindle shaft to seat in its place. I went over the gears again, counted the teeth, everything is in the right place. I don't know what's wrong at this point.
The clicking noise is the kickstarter pawl.
Have you looked at the selector fork on that shaft? It may be binding slightly and holding the shaft out of place. Have you tried rotating the selector drum to get thouse gears moving into different positions along the shaft? G '60 C77 '60 C72 '62 C72 Dream '63 CL72
