Finally back on the road for 2016, but had to install a new rear tire first....

Yes we did, actually. There is a bit of wear, but John seemed to think it would be okay for a while. I'll likely have to get another (520) from Sprocket Specialists at some point later this year.

I asked as although the pic of the teeth isn't the best cause the area between the tips of the
teeth looks rather wide.
Aren't tires fun!. ............lm

The tips have a little bit of wear, but here again nothing that John thought required immediate attention.

This tire was a load of fun - a very very tight fit, which I suppose indicates a good tire, I hope! Also put 8oz of Slime in the tube.

I'm slowly - very slowly - building up miles this year.....

Only managed 70 miles yesterday, but it was more of a shakedown ride than anything. I had this nagging fear that I had put too much 'Slime' in my new rear tire/tube, so I thought I'd take it for a ride and see. I had put 8oz in the tire, but then I discovered that Slime had a 'Slime calculator' on their website. Based upon the numbers I plugged in, it showed that my tire only required 4.7oz. Uh-oh.

But, I didn't detect any issues in the ride -- I rode it on a variety of roads and at a variety of speeds (including a run at 90mph), and everything seemed fine. So I'm not going to worry!

It may puddle while sitting but should even out as the tire spins.
It stays liquid unlike some of the tire balance fluids. ......................lm
