The other bushings are the brass (or steel?) ones that are at the pivot point of the swing arm. I don't think I can remove them without causing damage. They don't appear worn and I would like to leave them in if I can.

Thanks for the help everyone. After talking with Ed on the phone, I think I have a plan and that is to leave the steel bushing in and mask them. As far as the shock bushings go, I will buy a replacement from Ed. I am glad he has one, cuz apparently nobody else does. So, thanks Ed!

It would be interesting to see what the difference in size is from the CB72 part which was used in the CB400F. If it's only the hole in the middle that could be easily fixed.

Paul,
Just a heads up before you powder and you may know this or you may not---if there is anything you don't want to have powder in it at all, tape it off or put a rubber stopper or something in that spot--such as anything that has threads or maybe even where your races are going to go on your steering--reason I say this is because if you don't, it is not easy getting things back into their spots--the powder would have to be ground out and that is not a lot of fun--speaking from experience here.

Hi all,
In answer to G-man's comment Dave Silver has the swing arm shock bushes listed as part no. 40548_268_000 for both the CB77 and CB400F. My understanding is that these bushes were common to a number of different models. I have had sets of these from Dave and can confirm that they fit the CB77 swing arm and OEM rear shock units.

G-Man, I just placed an order with DSS. I'll let you know how they measure up. Worst case is I am out a couple of bucks. Best case is they can be made to work and I can give something back to this board.

Jeff, thanks for the heads up. I actually dragged my frame into the local hardware store and fitted bolts in all the threaded holes and stuck corks in the rest. I don't know if the cork will stand up, we'll have to see what the man says. I plan on bringing the parts in this Friday.

For the swing - arm bushes I usually make up a little assembly with some big flat washers and a bolt.
