I have #1514 & 663 both have spring type clamps. Also, early fork locks don't have covers over key hole.

I looked at the pics of your offer and couldn't find the clamp but did see a missing cover on the fork lock. .........................lm

What I have had and seen is the early CB's came with a band followed with an spring sort of thing. ............lm

17255-268-000 CB72 - 10001 to 11548 - spring clip?
17255-259-000 CB72 - 11549 to 22097 - flat clip from C72?
17255-268-010 CB72 - 22098 - - coiled wire spring

That seems to make sense......

This is the early type .....

This is the flat clip from the Dream

And the last number is the one we all know and love......

I have frame number CB72- 21329 so those tubes with the flat clips have found a home.......

Graham, i have the flat clips on my early 62 bike frame no 20006, i did try the 61 clip on a old tube i have here, it was a better fit on the one i have here, or it could be a difference in the size of the 2 clips i have. has anyone got a pic of the early tube.
