Progress on the fender project
repro front fenderI know this is an old thread, but I just came across it. Did this fellow ever complete and market his front fender, even as a kit? The work looks very good. THANKS - Stan
OK, after 4 years of procrastinating, I've taken up the Scrambler fender project again. I got dealt a couple of little delays with work, family, PC, etc. I didn't realize I had let it set so long. The laser cut blanks for the 8 hole bracket have been sitting on the shelf for over 2 years and the tooling for the fender roll is still out of the machine awaiting a little rework. Anyway, today I did what I've been going to do for some time, rework the form tooling and hit 1 blank to verify the 8 hole form.
Came out pretty good I think. The plan right now is to finish up the 10 brackets that I have blanks for, weld the tube braces in, and roll the first batch of fenders from heavy material as I don't have the wire edge worked out yet. I'm gonna leave this batch bare steel except for a couple that I plan to "chrome" powder coat just for show and feedback. Hopefully I'll have something to show at Barber in 3 weeks. Mark

Great to have you back! That's looking quite superb. I have all the fenders I need right now but I'm still very interested to see your finished product. G

Got the dies finished to form the clips, and flatten the tubing at the rear after its formed. This one is welded up but still need the joggles in the tube at the sides, the cable loops, holes for the bolts at the top, and the reinforcing washers spot welded at the mounting holes. I hope to get the rolls back in the rolling machine tomorrow and roll a few fender blanks.
