What year(s) is this Scrambler

This photo is as I got it. Yes I know the seat is wrong, fenders have been bobbed, incorrect tail light, etc... Frame number is CL7710168XX, engine number CL77E10177XX, wiring harness says 65.
It has alloy front forks, dual leading shoe front brakes with alloy rim, single leading shoe rear brakes. Seat mounting is the early style that does not use a rubber damper in front. No paperwork other than a Bill of sale. I have since dissembled down to the frame and I'm in the process of getting correct parts. Can anyone verify that this bike is an 65 and was originally equipped with single leading shoe brakes and steel forks?

Alloy legs = big-brake = 1966 for that set of IDs.

The wire harnesses were made for inventory.............the date is from the manufacturer.........not the date the bike was made by HONDA.

Oldscrambler,
I agree about the forks and front but what about the single leading shoe rear brakes and the early style seat mount on the frame? Did Honda mix the Dual leading shoe and single leading shoe brakes front and rear on the same bike? I'm thinking that most likely for whatever reason, accident, looks or performance, the original front end was swapped out at some point. I'm going to ride it with the big brake up front and alloy forks/rim so its mostly just a curiosity.

Anybody recognize what kind of taillight housing is on the bike?

Your ID numbers are very close to the break between '65-'66 so I am not sure but lean to '66. The front fender brace and fender is from a small-brake model. The tail-light housing is an aftermarket unit with a lens that looks British. Your front rim is an aftermarket alloy unit.......likely San Rimo or similar. Your chainguard is from a '66............the '65 units have slots but may not have lasted to the final small brake production unit. Your pipes look pretty good but you know the bars are not correct.

Shocks,front wheel,big brakes correct for # range. Changed around #1014495. Rear wheel is not correct. Would also think that with that large a split in frame/engine #s the engine was changed at some point.

Is the frame a late model with brake cable bracket welded on?
