Carb alternative for Honda DreamCarb alternative for Honda DreamAre there any other carbs that work on the 305? What about in the 60's, did anyone use another brand carb to improve performance ? What did they do back in the day to "hot rod" these bikes?
What issue are you trying to solve? The single carb and manifold are pretty restrictive and will limit anything you do with the carb.
You could fit CL cams, raise the compression, big bore kit etc. Then you might need better suspension and brakes..... G '60 C77 '60 C72 '62 C72 Dream '63 CL72

I must have a leak in the float or somewhere. Would like to maybe upgrade if any other more modern carb would fit, thats why I was asking. It's not the petcock. I pulled the line off the carb from the petcock and stuck it in a jar, no leak. You might try turning the gas off while you're still a few blocks from home. That will burn off much of the gas in float bowl. I do that with all my bikes, especially if they're going to be sitting a while before next being ridden again.
Do what you've always done and you'll get what you've always had.
