There is a thought that the rockers with the lube hole in the pad do not last as well as the earlier ones with a plain pad. My opinion is that without high-pressure lubrication this design does not work.

However, if Megacycle are building them up, the hole will probably get blocked. If I was making the choice, I would use the earlier style.

Thanks for the info. When the time comes I'll get more info from them about what exactly they do with the rockers (what all is involved in 'hard-facing' them?). If it's determined that it's better to use the ones that are already in my bike, then I'll send those off instead.

This is going to be a later in the year/winter project, so I'm not in any rush.

They might survive with the hard face but I wouldn't test it!

I recall seeing a video of someone welding some hard-facing alloy (stellite?) onto a rocker arm pad and using a small carbon rod to keep the lube hole clear.

Cannot locate it at the moment but will keep looking....

Dear G-Man, That is exactly how you do it. Carbon rod out of a battery. Grind it down on the pedestal grinder. Place that in the hole and the stellite goes around it . Easy done. Have done it on Honda rockers myself with good results. All the best Jerry
