Tool Tray Board wanted

Post by eric98 » Tue Apr 14, 2015 5:24 pm

Looking for a tool tray board for a 1967 Dream 305, part # 10 on the air filter schematic. Been looking on ebay and searching the web. Any help would be appreciated.

Did you ever find what you were looking for, Eric?

Perhaps. This is the one I have. A previous owner nipped the bottoms of the mounting holes. I imagine that this was done to allow the tray to be removed without fully removing the mounting bolts. Otherwise, it's in very good shape.

That looks like an early tool tray which won't fit his later Dream battery if he truly has a 1967. There were two different tool trays used depending when the bike was issued. The change occurred at serial (VIN or frame) number CA77-1010863 which I believe was in 1965. The battery dimensions changed so the battery box and tool tray dimensions are different. Stating the year of your bike when requesting parts can be rather ambiguous in certain cases as these bikes were titled in the year they were sold and can easily be a year off. My eyes may be fooling me but it looks like an early tray to me.
