Lazy day today; must be the weather. Just started stripping the carb covers. Had a devil of a time getting the knob and shaft off of the left side cover.

Heard from the media blaster and the frame and swing arm are done. I'll pick them up on Monday. I'm anxious to see how the more rusted areas, like around the side covers, came out.

Finished cleaning up the carb covers. They're ready for paint. Started cleaning the crankcase covers. Had some trouble removing the oil filter cover but overcame it with a little heat on the screw heads and a Vessel impact screwdriver.

Enough for today. Not major accomplishments, to be sure, but satisfying to me nevertheless.

Picked up the frame & swing arm from the media blaster today and delivered both to the body shop for dent repair and priming. I'm having second thoughts about the color. I'd originally thought to keep it black, but I really like the stock dark blue color. I'm not sure of the original code - PB5 Royal Blue? From what I've read here on the forum, the equivalents are Dupont Imron 63203UH and VW LL5M. I also have a tool shelf of the desired color in my parts store, so I can have the painter match it.

I wonder what other painted parts on the original blue bikes remained black? Seat bracket? The bracket for the driver's foot pegs? I believe the kick stand and center stand were black.

Center stand black; kick stand silver if you paint it, otherwise I believe it was originally zinc plated.

Zink; okay, thanks LM. All the more reason to get a zink plating tank going. I'll have to strip the primer off of the stand, but that won't take much.
