Which petcockYes, the middle one is not for a CB77. The other two look correct.
Based on my experience doing this, do not dispair if the brass tube or other orfices are blocked. Do not resort to pulling the brass tube off. Mine was sitting for 35 years when I bought it. It had 1/2 tank of gas in it, and the gas all evaporated and decomposed. Every orfice and passage, including the brass tube was 100% clogged with something basically like hard black tar. I disassembled it and soaked it in some kind of solvent (I dont recall - gasoline, paint thinner?) in a jar for days. The gunk softened up a little bit, but it was still a pain. In the end, I used a drill bit (leaving plenty of wiggle room in the bores), and slowly drilled out the tar. The brass tube part took a cycles (days) of soaking as I made progress with the drill, but hit more hard stuff. Eventually, in my last few passes, as I drilled down from top of the brass tube, gunk simultaneously was pushed out of the opposite end of the petcock. If you want to know how to clean out a rusted gas tank using vinegar (saving your original paint), that's another story (it works great). Pelayo Llamas Oakland, CA When I rebuilt my petcock last summer, I used the basket-in-can carb cleaner to clean the parts. I think the best thing I did was surface the flat dirverter. I polished the surface with some fine Wet or Dry (not sure if it was 400 or finer) on a ground flat plate. It works very smoothly and just feels better than it did. You can see the wear when you start polishing. C.

I bought a honda cb77 tank to put on another bike. I would like to know how to put the fuel lines on the petcock. One at the top is used to retrieve the hose coming from the other side of the tank. One of the two pipe pointing down to the carburetor. What is the second pipe pointing down? Thank you very much for your help
