Oil drip at exhaust ports
oil dripI hope it isn't the omisson of the little green o rings that sit between the cylendars and the head at two of the head tensioning rods. these two rods or the passage upward around them convey oil from the block to the upper head for cams an valve lubricaion. The little o rings keep oil from escaping as it travels upward. I discovered this conditon because I one ommitted the orings and a bunch of oil gushed from the exhaust flanges and onto the floor. When I popped the head off sure enough I forgot the little o rings! I too learn from my mistakes!
The leak was at the gaskets on the end camshaft.
The fix was to replace the gaskets and reseal them with gasket sealer. This is a fresh rebuild so I am breaking it in easy, riding it for half an hour to get it hot then parking it until the motor is cold , so I ride it once a day putting on 20 miles or so and keeping the rpm's under 5000. Gotta do that for 500 miles. I have a hundred miles on since the gasket repair and so far all is tight. 66' CL77, 63' CB77, 73' Jawa 350/ model 362 Californian 65' Jawa 250/model 590 07' Moto-Guzzi 1100 Griso
