New to this forum--1962? Honda dream 305Hey everybody, I am new to these forums...my name is Bob and I'm a 27yr old ase certified mechanic from Huntington, mass. I just bought 3 bikes for $300. A 1962 Honda 305 dream. I am not sure if the year is correct. This bike is in great condition. Also came with a dream parts bike as well as a nearly complete 65 scrambler. I am not sure where the vin numbers are on the dream. Also could use some general info about my bike..it will run. I am rebuilding the carb today. Everything is 100% functional. The engine numbers are CA72E-401492. Where can I find parts for this bike? Such as the correct battery,exhaust(mufflers are rotted out), and also points. My phone number is 413-231-3038...text me. My Dream projectBob, I'm in the same boat as you. I'm a semiretired old fb coach and Dean of Students two days per week (greatest job on earth) I've got to restore a 67 Dream. Sounds like you got a hack of a deal on your bike. I had to pay $1400 and drive to Dallas and LORD have I got lots to do to this bike. I tried to back out in Dallas, but wife basically held my feet to the fire to get this thing, now I've got to get it the way I want it! Any info on mufflers, points and paint would be appreciated. My bike is mostly red, but the chrome arch on he rear fender is black....think that is just black paint? How do I get it chrome again?
Hello Bob and welcome to our forum. A couple of things for you. Your VIN# is found on the left side of the stamped frame, beside the lower engine mount. the numbers are vertical. Secondly your dream is a 250cc. $300 for a Dream, a parts bike AND a scrambler, how do you sleep at night?

Guy said he was giving me a deal of the century and I guess he was right about that be he was happy to get rid of them! He dumped the dream back in the 70s...his wife flipped out everytime he rode after that so he parked it in 82 and left it. Now I have it!
Are you talking about the aluminum pieces on the rear fender where the shocks bolt up? I have a nice set from the parts bike that I can polish and sell you lol. I took the cover off the points to find out they looked brand new so I took some fine sand paper and lightly cleaned the contacts. My only other problem is the carb. I have it off the bike so I can rebuild it. Thought I needed a new cable...turns out the slide was just stuck! How can I post pics on this forum using my iPhone? Yes I'm 27 and don't know squat about these damn new phones. All I need is to make calls and receive calls...what ever happened to a good deal in person made with a handshake and a mans word. Now everything is on the internet.
