Is this a Superhawk?

Post by EBarton » Fri Jul 11, 2014 2:59 pm

Hi All,

New member to this forum.

My father past away last winter and I am in the process of going through my father's estate. One of the things he has i his garage is his old Honda 300. I have been trying to find more about this bike.

I am confused by the terminology "Superhawk."

The bike is a '64 with a VIN number that starts with CB77. But, no where on the bike or the drivers manual do the words "Superhawk" appear. The drivers manual is for a "Honda 250/300 Super Sport". Inside the owners manual it is referred to as the CB77. Engine capacity is listed as 305cc.

Is this a Superhawk?

As I try to figure this bike out, are there any other things I should be looking for?

Eric

Hi Eric

Yes, it was called a SuperHawk in the USA. Where are you located? In UK they were known as Dream Super Sports I think because the Raleigh bicycle company owned the Hawk name which Honda used on the CB72, 250cc bike elsewhere.

H G-Man,

I am in the USA. City of Milwaukee, WI. I didn't realize this info did not show up on the post.

So, I would be right in calling it a "Superhawk"?

Eric

Your dad's bike is a Super Hawk. Try to post a picture if you can and we can tell you more about it.
