Support?

"support for the tank"? Not sure what that means. With the seat off the tank should slip right on.

On my dream the same thing happens. You could try spraying the front rubber supports with WD40 so the tank slides up just a tad further.

Tank

On my bikes there is about an inch space between the front edge of the rear mount and the petcock nipple. Jack is right, if you don't have the tank slid forward all the way on the front mounts, you will have trouble.

What is your frame number? Is it a CA78 tank?
