petcock confusion

Post by Jawja » Sun Jun 10, 2007 1:27 pm

I have the petcock off my 305 but the parts in side don't look like pics of others I've seen. Mine doesn't have the X shaped metal piece but has a flat metal piece with three holes in it. It doesn't have the tube with it like the rebuild kits have on ebay. All so the metal around where the rubber goes in the middle has deteriorated and broke off in places, will this allow gas to go where it shouldn't, like running out around the screws? I guess what I need to know is this worth building or should I seek an alternative. I saw a pic of a round flat peice with three hole and a rubber O ring that screwed to the bottom of the tank, it had a threaded bung so you could screw a regular fuelcock in to it,( Pic below) Does any body no where to find these? Thanks for any help...................Image[/img]

I would also like to know where to find that!! I'm missing the petcock completely and replacements are at least $41 euro!
