What a concept - A Girl Bringing Back Her 1966 Super Hawk
I thought I'd mount the Podtronics behind the right side air cleaner element. While the idea is good, it won't clear the side cover. I'll have to fashion a bracket of some sort to mount it on. I'd like to use the original rectifier mount tangs. I don't want to drill ANY holes, anywhere. I want to keep the bike as stock as possible in appearance. I've been perusing the site and I've seen some very clever ideas. I'll think them over and see what my girl brain can come up with.

It seems like a piece of aluminum sheet is the way to go. Now to figure out where to put it where it can get airflow and has some room.
Wiring it in is simple enough. The pink and yellow wires from the dynamo are combined and connected to one of the yellow wires on the Pod, the other yellow wire gets the brown wire from the dynamo. The Pod's red wire goes to the red wire connected to the ignition combination switch (the one that was originally connected to the rectifier), and the Pod's black wire is connected to ground. As I understand it, regulation with the original rectifier was accomplished with a switch in the lighting circuit. That is where the pink wire went. That section is no longer needed, so it will be left disconnected. I read where some folks installed a relay in the lighting circuit. That's a nice touch, but I think I'll not do that. When I get this part of the circuit modified, I'll get after the electronic ignition. I want to get all the wiring done, tested and then tidied up before I attach any more structural or ancillary pieces to the Old Girl. 1965 CB77 305 Super Hawk

Here's the circuit with the Podtronics incorporated and stock rectifier removed. Excuse my chicken scratching!

Hi Vince! I've considered velcroing it either to the toolbox or the rear fender. There is room to do that. I'm looking for a more permanent mount, but I would like to avoid drilling holes in anything. I really think there is an answer with the rectifier mount, I just have to figure out what it is.

Vince, there isn't room on or around the toolbox to mount the Podtronics. There is on the rear fender, and if the location I've chosen in the photo below doesn't work, I'll velcro it there.
I'm going to make a bracket to bridge the rectifier mount and attach the Pod to it. That will leave about a 1/2 inch between it and the battery. That should be good for airflow.
