resto question polishing

Just curious, I've seen some restos with the cylinder head cap (access to valve adjustment) and the points cover (type 1 ) highly polished. Mine looks like it was a plain casting and not polished. '63 CB77. Any comments? thanks.

They can be polished.

Depends on what you're after. If you want it "correct" for a 100-point restoration/conservation, then don't polish the points cover or valve caps or side covers or handlebar clamp, etc. But if you want shiny pretty sparkly bits, have at it! :)

thanks, i was wondering what the "correct" way was, not that I'll going that route.
