It turns out the shocks are okay. I panicked, a little, but they're fine - they work like they're supposed to. I'll need to find a cover, perhaps two (G-man? ;) ), and get the chrome cleaned on them. The springs are being media blasted and painted right now.

I put the top cover on the head. I haven't torqued it yet. I'm not sure where those copper washers go. I also am not sure it makes a difference!

Things are rolling along. That engine is really looking nice, and what's really nice is that it's been totally rebuilt and for the most part, it's new! It's going to be a nice motorcycle.

Sara, the copper sealing washers go on the outside studs. You're making great progress. I may have a loose black plastic shock cover. I will look and see later today or tomorrow. Maybe G-man will be able to pack an extra pair of socks if he doesn't have to bring the cover ;-)

Sara,

I do have a black plastic shock cover. Consider it yours.

Sara

Good news on the shocks. Looks like you'll be ok with the cover from Tom. Let me know if you need another.

That motor is looking really nice, too!

Yore going to have a lot of fun with that bike.
