Parts compatibility across the years

Post by John Kat » Thu Jan 03, 2013 8:12 am

I noticed that the CB 77 part numbers have changed across the years for the following:
Top yoke, Cylinder barrel.
Are these interchangeable?
Will they fit on a post 1965 model?
Thanks

The PN's are:
Top yoke: 532303-68040/68050/68060
Cylinder block: 121002-66010/67010/67020
As there are no PN's for parts sold on e-bay I want to make sure the parts will interchange freely?

If you mean. 53230 268 040 fork top bridge.
You will want to get the 050 issue.
If you mean 12100 259-010 lower crank case.
You can use any with/after 050. .........lm

The second part is in fact the cylinder block: 12100 266-010 or 12100 267-010/020.
Which one is the correct one?

I hesitate to question LM, but in my parts book(s)

Part 11200-259-xxx is lower Crankcase
Part 12100-2xx-xxx is Cylinder barrel

For John I believe that the barrels are interchangeable after the early 1961 issue which had a different oil feed arrangement. I have a late NOS die-cast 305 barrel which looks different but appears to be compatible.
