Firestone 3.25-16 blackwall tire

Post by hondadreamca77 » Mon Oct 15, 2012 10:07 am

Anyone have experience with the Firestone 3.25-16 black-wall tire? 80/90/16 equivalent. Took the plunge and bought one for the rear....going to try and keep the front Nitto for awhile until I find a good deal on whitewalls...finding these is nuts....you would think these would be plentiful.

Thanks

Steve

I have 'em on mine and they seem fine. Tread pattern gets the bike a little squirrely on roads with the drainage striations but nothing too bad.

It's what I'm running. I made mine into whitewalls. I went on a 100 mile ride the other weekend on all twisty back roads. No complaints.

Looks great! Did you go same tread pattern front and rear? How did you make into white walls...just direct me to right place if already posted here on forum.

Thanks,

Steve

All that I could find available was the same tread front and rear. It wouldn't have been my first choice but my rear tire was completely shot and I had to do something.

I simply used white wall paint. I don't have a museum piece and I wasn't interested in $150 tires.

$56 bucks each including shipping. Not bad and look good IMHO...

Keeping it to sell to someone who is doing a museum piece is a good idea......riding on a 45 year old tire is not!

The rule of thumb for tire shelf life is 7 years.
