CAD image

Post by MRiesAP » Mon Sep 24, 2012 10:29 am

Does any one have a CAD image or multi-sided shot of the 1964 dream in black and white?? tried looking on web but cant find any. I want to start looking at color combos and paint layouts and not just in my head...

I had the exact same idea for trying color combos ... though not quite as ambitious as a CAD drawing, just a 2D image.

I found this image and was going to give it a try:

Should be easy to modify (using the GIMP - see http://www.gimp.org) to try different colors. I know it's not 3D but might be a start?

If I get some time on the weekend I'll set it up and post the template and some sample color shots here for anyone that wants it.

Interesting picture. I notice there is no frame section at the top of the head for the engine mount there. Were the older dreams like that or is this just a feature missing on this artwork??

I am not sure on mine it looks like it was an after though design...maybe due to the lower mounts not being supportive enough for the engine. You can see where it was put on at factory but is not part of original bike frame stamp. Does any one with a '63 or newer know if these are on theirs? or maybe the pic is of a 250 not a 305? do the 250's have these brackets?

So I think this is the basic color scheme I am gonna do. might be some tweak-age here and there...

The brackets are standard on both models.
