Thanks a lot!! First project I've ever finished, not perfect or original, but I thought it turned out pretty nice, especially when you know what I started with.

Working on the clutch today, not quite sure what the problem is...and I haven't run into anything obvious yet...

There's no adjusting it, one way it slips and then adjust it tighter and it wont go into gear and it also gets really tight and wants to walk away from me when it gets hot. I'm at a loss any idea what the problem could be?

Just got my clutch apart...I couldn't find anything wrong, but I did notice that the clutch in the bike had 6 plates when the one that came out only had 5. I'm not sure why that is, but I'm going to put the 5 plate clutch back in and see if that makes a difference.

u might want to ask around about what type of oil to use, the modern oils are more slippery and may be causing yoru clutch to slip. just a thought.

Well I always use 30w non-detergent oils. I figured that's what it says on the crank case so that's what I go with. But if anyone had any input about the oil I should use.

Put the old clutch back into my bike last night. The one that was in it had 6 friction plates and the one I put back in had 5 thicker ones. But now instead of getting tight it slips when I try to kick start the bike. I figure the old clutch is worn out. I just don't know what to do with it now.
