ANyone know if there is an easy way to remove and replace the condenser on a Dream CA77???? I located it but can not image how to remove it without disassembly of the motor from the frame.. Must be a better way . regards all jcs.services@yahoo.com Thanks

Removing condensor

Post by conbs » Sat Jul 14, 2012 1:12 pm

Jo, search this site. I remember reading a couple posts a while back. Seemed like one guy bent a wrench so it would reach the bolts and turned them 1/6 turn at a time.

Are you absolutley certain your condensor is bad? It probably shouldn't be the first place to look.

condenser CA77

Thganks for the reply . I am not sure the condenser needs to be replaced but as I was changing the points I thought I would change the condenser, until I discovered its location..!! There are two phillips head screws holding the condenser tothe top of the motor. However it is tucked away under the frame just behind the horn..

Clearly it was not meant to be replaced.. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks JoeC

I would only replace it if I had to. And if I had to, I would probably just leave that one where it sits and mount a new one someplace else!
