backfire while adjusting timing

Post by dlobby12 » Sun Jul 15, 2012 5:17 pm

I was adjusting the timing using the light bulb method, and the motor backfired without it running. Any thoughts on why or how that could happen?

Why

Post by paperslammer » Sat Nov 08, 2014 12:55 pm

Hey I teach a class where I am explaining how the points / timing works. But something I don't know is WHY do the contacts of the points need to be at 0.014"? Why can't 0.015 work? Or 0.013?

Thanks
