https://vimeo.com/41825083 i am running in valves for the first time and set the tappet gaps larger as instructed by bill silver. after how many miles should i check the tappet clearance again? more iphone pics. got the castle nuts for the damper pretty easy at this local hardware store that stocks all sorts of specialty metric stuff. sweet...
IMG_0687 by davidscherbarth, on Flickr IMG_0686 by davidscherbarth, on Flickr omg almost done. rear shocks arrive on thursday and im finishing up the prep for the paint i purchased. its dupont chromax pro. ill post pics of the stickers just for reference in my next reply. i also dropped off my seat to get refoamed and re-upholstered @ king kovers. i hear they are great at what they do, so i opted for real leather with no piping and yellow accent stitching. they say it will be done by the weekend!
also when i was disassembling the neutral light that plastic nut shattered =( i havent started looking but i hope they are available! pics below. _MG_8540 by davidscherbarth, on Flickr _MG_8537 by davidscherbarth, on Flickr ugh so close!!!
more crappy iphone pics. but then i suppose the finished pics with the nice camera will look that much better. anyways, i started painting. so far so good, i shot the black and silver today and will shoot the clear tomorrow or thursday. and yes, there is a fatty dent on the tank, luckily the side cover hides it. also, i got my seat back from king kovers, and i must say it looks great. real leather and they kept the seat form pretty much original. im glad i did it. the rear suspension is all hooked up too. i went with some progressive gas shocks @ 13". tires should be in this week. i ordered a continental TKV11 for the front and a TKV12 for the rear. and finally the pics of the paint i ended up using dupont cromax pro. its a great system and im shooting the paint with all harbor freight HVLP guns IMG_0699 by davidscherbarth, on Flickr IMG_0700 by davidscherbarth, on Flickr IMG_0698 by davidscherbarth, on Flickr IMG_0706 by davidscherbarth, on Flickr IMG_0697 by davidscherbarth, on Flickr IMG_0701 by davidscherbarth, on Flickr IMG_0702 by davidscherbarth, on Flickr IMG_0703 by davidscherbarth, on Flickr IMG_0704 by davidscherbarth, on Flickr IMG_0705 by davidscherbarth, on Flickr so...pretty much all finished up! no thanks to fremont honda again. look at this mount job for my front tire. i didnt discover it until i got it all the way back to the shop. where's the safety love for a fellow motorcyclist? well, at least they mounted the back tire the right way.
IMG_0720 by davidscherbarth, on Flickr after fixing that myself and taking it for a brief spin in the parking lot with the original chain, it still needs a lot of tuning. also a new chain, since i figured out that o-ring chains are a tad too wide for this bike. time to get a 530 roller i guess. also i cant have the chainguard on with this suspension, its just too wide. ill take this out for a sexy glamour shot once i get a proper new chain. until then enjoy the pics below. and thank you everyone on the forum for the tips, you guys made it so much easier!! _MG_8555 by davidscherbarth, on Flickr _MG_8554 by davidscherbarth, on Flickr _MG_8550 by davidscherbarth, on Flickr _MG_8549 by davidscherbarth, on Flickr _MG_8548 by davidscherbarth, on Flickr _MG_8547 by davidscherbarth, on Flickr _MG_8544 by davidscherbarth, on Flickr
