FUEL FLOW PROBLEM WITH CL160FUEL FLOW PROBLEM WITH CL160Does anyone know the majic word to chant while trying to get fuel to flow on my friends CL160D. Carbs and petcock were ultra-sonicly cleaned and fresh rebuild with Keyster kits ( I used the original Honda brass jets). Fuel flows from the petcock to the csrbs OK and with the float bowls off but with the float bowls on nothing. I trimed the gaskets and the float seems free. Could it be a bubble in the lines or something simple I have overlooked. Float level is set at about 20mm.

I think the issue on these bikes is the relative level of the fuel tap to the needle valves (very close--- so not much gravity) I think over long fuel lines or inline filters can aggrevate this problem.
Good luck Randy
My product provides a good solution:

Petcock being close to the level of the carbs is not relevant to flow. The height of the fuel level in the tank determines the head pressure.
Now if you only put a small amount of fuel in the tank the level is very low and hence not much head. I would tend to agree that the vents are plugged, ultra-sonic cleaning or not. I just finished cleaning the carbs on my CB160 and I had to use a fine needle to get the hard deposits out of the pilot jets. There were other old fuel deposits that carb cleaner would not move. It had to be manually brushed out. regards, Rob
