Finally back at it! UPDATE: still burnt up :(

Post by Andy's CB » Sat Feb 25, 2012 10:23 pm

Hey, haven't posted in a while. For anyone who may remember, I am hoping to get a VIN check monday, and hit up the BMV with all the paperwork I should need on Tuesday after work. Hoping that all goes through and I can start getting my license, plates, etc. Then I can ride it sloooowly to get some new tires after sitting since 1983! Have about $100 in parts and a good amount of time learning as I go in it, but can't afford to put anything else into it and get it completely street legal until I know I can get the title. Will keep you all posted!

Andy : nice to see you're back. Wondered what was going on with you. Give me a holler on your way to chicago and stop in sometime.

Thanks Mike! I got in to the BMV today and will have a title within 10 days! was very easy once I got everything together.
What I had, in case anyone is curious, is what I was told by a fellow hoosier on here:
1.notarized bill of sale
2. letter from Indiana BMV saying no record of the VIN
3. Affidavit from officer
Can't wait to get that. Check after next will be enough to cover tires if I can't get them with this check. Thanks everyone for your help!

Andy,

Glad it worked out for you. As I said, a few hoops to jump through, but not difficult, just time consuming. Warm weather just around the corner.............................

yeah, especially with the long weird hours i work, hard to get all that done in the allowable time without spending an entire saturday in line at the bmv...now to get tires, a taillight lens, and a helmet!

hey! it still looks the same as it did before in my post under restorations, but hoping to get a new tail light and get it shined up a little, then new tires when i get some more money, it has weird exhaust pipes, like a homebrew setup with plumbers tape and both sides high. like in the previously posted pic Image i am wondering how that will be for riding, would that white wrap ive seen on other bikes be enough to keep me a little safer?
