After opening the motor I saw this was broken :-(. Could this be restored? Or should I trie to find a new one and what has happened with the broken part...?

Until recently David Silver was selling new ones but he seems to have run out now. I have a friend who may still have a NOS one for you. I will check.

If not, I should be able to find a good used one for you.
