Adjusting valve clearance
So, when adjusting my valve clearances on a CA72, when my T mark is aligned the camshaft does not show the same direction as your pictures, and it definitely does not have a mark on it (it might've used to).
Could my camshaft be installed wrong? I never took it out when I lapped the valves, etc. I even put the timing chain on with the mark up on the camshaft cog.
That picture you are referencing is the point cam on a CB72/CB77 with a 180 degree crank. That is not what you have. You have a different point cam with a CA72 360 degree crank. HT Falling past the T mark when adjusting valvesI know this is an old post but people mention in this post the motor "falling" past the T mark when trying to adjust the valves. This is what mine does. If this happens do you back it up and hold tension on the crank nut so it stays on the T mark for adjustment?

Re: Falling past the T mark when adjusting valvesI wedge the crank at that bolt with vise grip pliers held in place with any thing. ..................l
