Looking at the shifter, would'nt the pattern upshift/downshift be reversed? One up, four down? Nevertheless...cool looking bike.

Yes shift pattern is now reversed from the original pattern.

Kev, if you had a stock CB72 lever pivot bolt, you could probably make it work like race kit change.

It might even be possible to move the pegs back to the stock front location with an arrangement similar to the stock linkage.

If you can't find a stock pivot bolt, use a longer regular bolt and machine a pivot the right size for the shifter and which just clears the bolt. Make it marginally wider than the shift lever so the lever isn't pinched.

You would have to dump the kicker and go with the electric foot of course.

I agree some of the stock bits could be used to get the linkage back to a more normal pattern and look. The shift side could be moved back to stock location but the brake side cannot be moved unless the kicker was removed. Actually I don't mind this shift patter, it shifts like my old Guzzi.
