Just started work on a '65 CB77. I'll post a few pics this week, but it is nothing to eyeball yet. So far I've been focusing on the motor, which turns over, but I have a frozen kickstart pinion gear (any help on removing that would be great). The bike has an original CA title and has been sitting under a tarp for over 30 years! This will be a real test on my mechanical skills, that have been learned from the mistakes I've made while working on my motocross bikes. Thanks in advance for any help in the future! Glad to be on here and continue the history of this motorcycle.

every question you might have has probably been asked, there's plenty of info scattered throughout these posts to help you along the way. underneath the gas tank, the main wiring harness should have a white sumitomo tag on it. some forum members would be interested to know what year is printed on the tag.
So I finally got my camera out there and took some pictures. I'm trying to find the pictures of the actual location where I dragged the bike from. It was sitting under a tarp for over 30 years! The wheels wouldn't turn, so two of us had to carry it through the bushes. For now these pictures will show the "age". To be honest, once I clean all of the dirt and surface rust, it will be decent. The motor is great so far; turns over no problem and actually had oil sitting in the bottom end for 30+years. There was no water or rust/metal whatsoever in the oil. The bike also shifts through gears as far as I could tell on my driveway.
After checking the electrical tag, it says 1965. I've also attached a photo. The bike came with an original title and owners manual. I will be the second registered owner. Long nights lay ahead on this project! Lastly, I attached a couple photos pointing to the frozen kickstart pinion gear. I took off the circlip on the front, but I'm unsure how to remove. It seems that the front side has a flange that is too big to slide through the case. Does the front piece and the gear separate? It looks as though it might screw together? Thanks again for all the help. I really hope to find the pics when I first bought the bike two weeks ago. It was a real trip. So far I have one picture of the previous owner and myself....and the bike. One last question, what makes the 1965 model more valuable than other years? Have a good one, Bobby
1965 worth more?From what I read, 1965 bikes may be worth more because they survived all the thermonuclear testing being done then by the 'Nuclear Club' members.
