1965 Scrambler title

Post by sparks454 » Sun May 15, 2011 3:06 pm

Any have or know where I can locate a title for a '65 Honda Scrambler 305. My father recently acquired a '65, yes I have run the numbers, and the guy can not find the title or any identifying papers to go with it. He did have the old plate. It has been sitting for nearly 19 years now...We have been to the BMV with the guy and nothing can be done. I have purchased titles before for our wonderful state of Ohio, but for cars that were missing titles...Now we have a bike that we need one for. We were not really wanting to go the salvage title route. The bike is all original, needs restored, but runs great. We would like to keep it that way. I did find a place that can make a title, but for pre '69 items, it was like $900...Otherwise, we were looking to sell the bike. It's complete, rebuilt carbs, clutch slips a good bit, new battery.etc..The only mod done was the front end of the front fender had been cut back about 6"..Still has the original tires...Any thoughts on the title would be great. My paps retired and was hoping to restore it and ride it this year. Thanks in advance...Chris, 330-204-4199

Thanks for the info. We are working on getting a bill of sale from the seller notarized. This should be all we need then...

Hi, I don't know about ohio but in iowa it's not to tough to get a new title. We go to our insurance man and get a surity bond with a bill of sale. At that point you can get state paperwork that gets sent into the state, a state inspector then comes to look at the bike for a numbers check and then issues paperwork for the DMV to issue a new title. Hope this helps good luck Atlas
