Shift Spindle Interchangeable Between Models?

Post by Uniblob » Mon Apr 04, 2011 12:07 pm

Hello All,

Doing a restoration of a '67 CB77 and have made great use of this forum. I searched but have not seen this previously discussed...

Is the shift spindle interchangeable between the 305 models - CL, CA, CB? In other words; will a shift spindle from a CL or CA work in my Superhawk?

Thanks in advance,

Bruce from Baltimore

Hi Dave,

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think there are two different types, a long and a short version.
I never tried to interchanges these, but I wonder if they would.

You may be correct, all of them that I have sen are the same. What is longer on the long version?

So then the outer clutch cover must be different as well?

Hi,

I presume one of these is from an early dream, like a C71 / C76, but I'm not sure on this.
In a time when I was paying less attention, I broke up a lot of CB / C engines, a few dry but mostly wet sump, and these were in the box trans parts.

I am re-arranging stuff, the last few weeks and I remembered these,
