Hi Cliff. Ya I still drop by once in awhile. We have been busy at the shop as well so not allot of time to ride or look around the net. Got about 1000 miles put on the wing this summer. Picked up a few new tools for the shop so they been keeping me busy. Here's a few links to check them out. Hope all is well on your end buddy. Very nice to see your still around here as well. Thanks for the note. Paul

Honda C200 Information

Post by NBD925 » Wed Jan 19, 2011 12:55 pm

Hi 4shorts: I know you must here this all the time but . . . wow you are good! I follow all your threads and I am currently working on a 1962 CA77 Dream and a Honda C200. I hope they turn out half as well as yours do.

My questions are about the Honda C200.
What Are your frame and engine number? The reason I ask is: Mine are Engine# C200E-53086 and my Frame is C200-113379 they seem weird to me.

What Carb models came on these bikes: I have two Carbs, they both look alike and match the look of all the C200 Carbs I have seen in pictures. They are marked on the intake flange: C20D and the second carb: CB E (the CB is small font and the E is larger)

Here are the pictures of the CB E Carb I have: I believe this to be the original carb that came with the bike.

What model Carb do you have on your C200?
Also What are the Carb specs and where can I find them? (IE: Main Jet, Slow Jet, Float level, the works.)

I know I have a lot of questions but these are the mysteries that are unsolved for me and I hope you can help. What book did you use for your restoration? Parts/Shop manual

Thanks 4shorts

Hi Adam. I appreciate your kind words. I'm not sure about how good I am because there are two types of good. One is good and the other is good for nothing. i must be doing OK though because the wife still keeps me around :)

When I did my C200 I went by the parts manual. I've looked everywhere this evening but couldn't find it but I'll have a look again by the weekend. I did how ever check the VIN numbers on my C200 and they are as follows:

Motor VIN # C200E-161357
Frames VIN # C200-268369

I don't think Honda was to concerned about matched numbers back then.

I checked my carb and there were no stamping numbers on it like the ones show in your photo's. I did snap a few photo's of mine plus a photo of the original owners manual showing the carb number in it. When I find my parts manual I'll be able to see if there were different variations of the carb.

I would suggest checking fleebay for a shop manual and a parts manual. I got lucky with this bike. When I first got it It had some kind of critter that got at the wiring and when I repaired that and cleaned the carb the bikes started on the second kick and ran perfectly so other than repairing a damaged engine side cover I never had to do much with the engine. They are a very easy engine to work on. hope this helps you out. i'll find the manual and post the break down of the carb.

Thanks for posting! Cheers, Paul

honda c200 manual/engine building specs

Post by injunjustin » Wed Mar 23, 2011 8:55 pm

Hi all,
I am currently restoring a honda c200 and have been looking around for some engine specs, like some torque specs, setting the engine and ignition timing, piston ring gap and ect. I was wondering if anyone out there knows where i could get these specs in a manual or what ever?
Thanks,
Justin
