It's been along time but I believe the 61 frame tube was just flattened and the later frames had a fitting with a notch that slipped over the frame tube which is what made the later ones longer. Cliff

CYB RACE SEAT

Post by GORDON BROWN » Mon Feb 21, 2011 6:10 am

HELLO EVERYONE

HOPEFULLY ATTACHED ARE SOME PICTURES OF MY RACE SEAT WITH A MEASURE, I THINK CLIFF IS CORRECT THE END EXTENSIONS SEEM TO BE THE ONLY DIFFRENCE ON THE LATER MACHINES.
MY SEAT IS ARROUND 14 INCHES BETWEEN THE REAR BOLT LOCATION AND THE FRONT PEG SLOT.
I HOPE THIS IS OF SOME USE AND THE PROJECT IS GOING WELL.

CYB race seat

Post by GORDON BROWN » Mon Feb 21, 2011 6:47 am

Hello

Just before anyone says anything, I know the race seat is not a Lambretta flywheel.
Which is lucky realy, I dont think it would spin very well at 4,000 rpm. or even less for that matter.

Thanks for the pics Gordon. Those clear up a good bit on the fitment. Looks like all the modification for the new ones was only in the bracket. From the looks of your bracket, Honda flared it back an inch while keeping the original mounting location and did not change the seat length at all.

I went ahead and updated my molding guy to keep the seat the same length. Now I just have to give my machinist a revised bracket design.

Hello

It seems right about the extentions, you can see where they are set back, I have put the seat back on the bike but its easy to remove iit if you need photos of a specfic area.
I am posting, hopefully the other photo's I have taken.
