Newbie looking for CL77 muffler info

Post by 1972vsonic » Thu Jan 27, 2011 11:53 am

Hi,
This has probably been asked and answered countless times on the board, but please excuse me, I am new here.
I have a 66 CL77 and the slip on muffler is starting to show it's age. The chrome is in fair shape at best, and the flash photograph makes it look worse than it is. I am looking for a shop that can refurbish and replate these mufflers as they seem to be very hard to find. Any suggestions are appreciated.
Thanx, John

CL MUFFLER

John, I have read in past posts that re-chroming one of these mufflers would be a very hard and expensive task. Someone is re-popping them though(classic restorations I think)but they are not cheap! Good luck and welcome.................................D

If you end up buying a replacement from Classic, I'd be interested in purchasing your old one. It will probably match the condition of the chrome on my pipes, which are currently straight.

PM if this ends up happening.

Thanks,
Rob
