Okay -- looks like the House of Balance is out then....not a big deal (I hope!). Thanks for the enlightenment!

Just found out from Bore-Tech that the stock pistons w/pins weigh 208.5 grams, and the new ones w/pins weigh 225 grams. So hopefully that won't really affect vibrations too much, if at all.

Vince, Do not get too concerned regarding the balancing on your crank. In my case I balance and polish the conrods (little end, big end and o/all weight the same) and get the pistons the same. On the 350 the piston and wrist pin weight is 224gms. I do not balance the cranks even though I disassemble the cranks totally before race use. Jerry

Cool. If you don't mind elaborating, what made you choose the NOVA over the other one? Has the installation changed at all from the past? Still minor grinding and filling involved?

They are all the same, made by Nova. Yes, minor filing etc is required, and I have all the particulars needed for John (mechanic) to do the work.

I decided to get it from Nova as they are the manufacturers of it, so if there was ever a problem I could go back to them directly.

Just waiting on the 350 kit/barrels from Bore-Tech, plus the head from Ladd's. Getting There!

Vince is spot on. The different gear sets all come from NOVA.

I have had cranks machined do different degrees of lightness and never bother to balance them. I do match piston weights though because my machining is way less precise than Jerry's and usually needs fine tuning.

If you're ever bored and need something to do, I, as well as others possibly, would love to see a scan of the installation guide. Perhaps there's one already online somewhere?
