CB77 Head Conversion to CA77 Cylinder / Motor

Post by BLUE62 » Sat Dec 04, 2010 5:45 pm

Has anyone any knowledge / comments on putting a two carb CB77 Head on a CA77 Cylinder / Motor then dropping into a CB77 Frame?

Just wondering, but if it' going in a CB77 frame, why not a whole CB77 motor?

CB77 HEAD TO CA77 CYLINDER / MOTOR

Post by BLUE62 » Sat Dec 04, 2010 6:25 pm

My concern over the conversion is the CA77 is a 360 degree crank (both pistons up and down at same time) versus the CB77 with opposing 180 degree crank / piston movement. The piston tops may be different, as well as the Cam timing, etc. etc. The CA77 has a different loap and sound that might make the change interesting.

Ya will need to do cam timing changes and a different points cam.
No problems with the pistons/valves in fact ya will gain compression.
HONDA issued CB bikes with this engine as stock. ..............lm
