What's worse than castration? Loosing Mr. Johnson along with the bagettes!

Hey Gents,

So the remaining outstanding work on the dream is as follows:

1. Waiting on new throttle cable (in the mail)
2. Replace "makeshift" tank bushings with NOS ones (in the mail)
3. Put baffles into the headers (no pipes, just headers)
4. Fire her up!

On a side note, I realllly need to send out the switches and ignition/key to the people that asked for them... Im going to try to make it out to the post office tonight/tomorrow at the latest!

Sascha,
If sound was the consideration for going muffler-less, you can poke a couple holes in the mufflers that came on your bike and improve the sound tremendously.
Just sharpen a steel rod and hammer in from the intake side....the baffle metal is pretty soft and perforates easily.
I actually like the look of the mufflers better than stock, although you do lose some cornering clearance.

You can have those pipes if you want them brewsky... Literally used for like a month.
Im resolved on having the baffles fed right into the headers and no pipes. Just looks much cleaner and helps achieve the look and feel im going for.

I do understand eyeryone has their own taste.

I appreciate the offer and will take you up on it if you are sure you don't want to sell them or help someone else out who needs a set.

I've been thinking about sawing the snout off mine for a reverse cone look, but didn't want to risk it without being able to replace them if I didn't like the result.
