Clear paint or not ? ?Clear paint or not ? ?Hi folks,
I probably have the most stupidest question ever, but im a bit confused about it... I already understand that the engine needs to be silver-aluminium with a not shiny look (sorry, my English lacks) So I already did that, and painted it with Silver-WheelPaint from motip (wich is a perfect color if you ask me!) But now, here comes the question, do the fenders and side 'thingy's' and bottom front forks, need a clear coat ? or do they need to stay dull as well ? I would say they need to be painted with clear coat, but not really sure. This has been my first 'serious' paint job ever, and it really worked out well, and much better then I had expected. new vs old ( the small dents you see in the side thingy's , i leaved it there on perpouse, I think and old bike like this doesn't have to smooth and all..) So, clear coat ? or not ? Thanks ! I thinks this paint will do fine, Motip is the same as Dupli-Color.
The bike won't see rain, wet road, or a dirt road, so the paint doesn't need to be very expensive I think. And well... if it's really going to turn out bad then I just rip all the parts off and bring them to the prof. painter. I think ive spend less the 100euro on the paint, so it's not a big deal if it turns out bad, the only bad about is that it's going to take time, but ah.. it's a hobby, and im still young, so I have time enough to wait... im not in a hurry at all about it, just do ur thing, enjoy, and relax...
