And how many times have we all said that - just before the next change.... Enjoy the summer on your one of a kind bike.

I've had my hands on many CL72/77 bikes and what I find is that when issued by HONDA that aluminum part was blank.
No lettering at all. ........lm

Anyone seen this piece before???
Nope. Nice touch Vince; and a steal! I think all Dream, CB, Supercub & BB taillights were Stanley D-2R(?); except the late '67> models.

Are those tyres Dunlop K82s?

Looking good Vince. I like that watch holder. Is that something you purchased or fabbed up?

This pocket watch holder has definitely been the object of desire by a lot of vintage motorcyclists who see it! I got it about 5 years ago from a place called PJ Speedos in Kirk Michael on the Isle of Man. They are no longer in business there, but there is another place called PJ Speedos that's located in Surrey, UK (might be the same outfit). That's the only place I'd come across that made/carried them, so I really can't point you in another direction in which to find one. It might be worth a try to contact the business in Surrey to see if they sell them.

It has a split clamp on the underside, and fits 7/8" bars. There is a round chrome dish with foam cushioning, and the four 'arms' that grasp the watch are made of spring steel. The holder is meant to accommodate a 16 size pocket watch (approx. 2" in diameter). I've learned to not mount a particularly expensive watch in the holder, as the road shocks/bumps can make quick work of a mechanical movement (a battery-powered quartz movement would fare much better). Having said that, my 1960 Ingersoll Triumph has lasted for over a year and about 6,000 miles without issue.

Nice. I've seen handlebar watches but nothing that lets you mount your own pocket watch. If you ever get an opportunity and feel like giving up the details, can you post pics of the assembly by itself? I'd love to duplicate it possibly if you don't mind a bit of a copy cat in the bunch.

I'll try to take a few shots of the holder this weekend and post them here. BTW, I emailed the PJ Speedos in Surrey and my email bounced back, so that one might not be in business either.

I went for a 185 mile ride today - beautiful weather, low humidity (finally!), great two-lane winding roads, and good coffee and donuts in York, PA. The new chrome on the tail light performed great - stayed shiny for the entire ride with nary a fingerprint.

My goal between now and the end of the year is to hit 24,000 miles on the odometer, so then it will officially be 20,000 miles that I'll have put on the bike......just another 1290 miles to go!

Here is another type of watch holder you can look for. This one doesn't seem to be quite as substantial as the one I have (as it appears to be meant for a bicycle), but it might work for you:
