Brought the tank to Lee this morning and he's already filled in all the areas that needed to be filled in. It's ready for paint, and should be all buttoned up by the end of next week.

The chain guard is ready and I'll have that by Monday....it's all starting to come together!

BTW, I'm looking for one of those push-button gas cap latches if anyone has a nice/NOS one!

It looks as though that neck will help during filling as well.( help prevent splash over). I've gone to a couple stations where the pumps are hard to control. I try to fill it at home whenever possible. You'll definately have a one of a kind there. Cant wait to see it all painted up.

Yes I'm anxious to see it finished as well!

The only thing is that the push-button latch that came with the CB350 tank has a crack in it, and the only replacement latches I can find are the keyed versions (the push-button latch was recalled in 1978 and replaced with the keyed latch). Though I much prefer the look of the button latch, the keyed version is going to have to do for now until I find a good push-button version. Fortunately it's fairly straightforward to replace, so if I find one down the line it's not a big deal to switch it out. Maybe I'll luck out and find one at Mid-Ohio in a few weeks.

Tank Update -- all the priming is done, and it's ready for paint. The humidity has affected the schedule a bit, but it will be done by the middle of next week.

DowntoScratch has graciously supplied me with a push-button latch for the gas cap (thanks Jerry!), and Ronnie Brown is going to be putting a nice new chrome finish on it within the next week.

The whole shebang will then be going to John (mechanic) for assembly and final checkups before the Mid-Ohio sojourn. Can't wait!
