Update on the tank: The welder is done. The dent has been removed, the new cap is in the middle of the tank, the collar has been welded inside the tank, and it's good to go. John should have it back by the end of the week, and it will be cleaned and treated and ready to be painted by next Friday. Woo hoo!

Yet another update on the tank -- John picked it up today and he said that it looks awesome, and this should be the final word on the gas sloshing situation. He's going to start the internal cleaning and treating this weekend, and it should be ready for paint by the end of next week. And I just ordered a replacement gasket for the cap, so this tank is well on its way!

I'll try to get some interim photos of the tank if I can......

Thanks Jensen -- fortunately I know at least two guys in the Baltimore area who are phenomenal welders. One of them is working on the chain guard right now, and the other one did this tank.

If this doesn't solve the problem, nothing will!

This will solve it, a (my) CB400F has the same petrol cap, and it's absolutely not leaking.
