I'm thinking it would be adequate. I swapped out the original rectifier on my 1963 CB77 for an over the counter silicon bridge replacement meeting/exceeding the previously quoted specs and everything seems fine so far.

My turn signals and brake/tail light are LED, which draw way less current, but I don't think that would make a difference in your charging circuit.

I bought a replacement rectifier from Retro Bikes that looks the same as the original but with upgraded diodes. No fabrication needed.

The Radio Shack rectifiers (276-1185) are getting hard to find in Canada, but any bridge rectifier that meets or exceeds the specs (PIV of 50 volts or more, and Forward Current of 25 amps or more) will work just as well.

Wilf, would that be adequate for a Dream with all the turn signals? Jeff H.
A 25A rectifier is perfect. After all, the entire electrical system is fused at 15A. A 25A rec will run cooler than a 15A and a 40A will offer slightly more attenuation to the resultant output, so I'd recommend a 25A.

Well I crossed the border last night and picked up the Radio Shack rectifier, heck for just over $3 I grabbed two. I also took a heat sink out of an obsolete computer at work today. I'll try to hook it up tomorrow. Cheers. Jeff H.

Eljeef, do you have a pic of that rectifier, and any info on installing it? Is it simply a 'plug-N-play'??

Geez, I should check this more often. Sorry for the delay John. I don't have a picture of the Radio Shack rectifier but search this forum under rectifier or just follow this link to Brewsky's post http://www.honda305.com/forum/index.htm Good Luck :)

O.K. Let's see if I can get this project moving again. Finally ended the electrolysis process on my fuel tank. Here's a blurry photo; Image Anyway, I ran it through electrolysis about six times (only because I left it so long between treatments a little rust would form ). I dropped a handful of lockwashers and nuts in the tank and shook it every which way for awhile to get any remaining crust off, then I rinsed it out with fresh water, then rinsed again with Isopropyl alcohol, then again with varsol. I hope that will do. I also installed my new rectifier from Retro Bikes. It looks preety great I must say. Image I have moved the two black cables to a position underneath the rectifier where I believe they are supposed to be. I also patched up some exposed wires near the grommet. Cheers.
