Keihin float bowl gaskets

Post by sparks454 » Sat May 01, 2010 9:01 pm

Anyone know where to find some 'good' keihin float bowl gaskets? I've got a '65 cl77 w/ 26mm carbs and have used both the Sudco and Keyster kits. The bowl gaskets seem to swell and once used can not be used again. Any suggestions on using different material to make your own or a different brand that offers a good reusable gasket.

Thanks,
Chris

Have you tried the Honda dealer. I'm not sure if they're still available, but worth a try. last time I ordered them was a while ago, around $8 a piece.

I have not, but thanks for the advice. Do you know what brand they are? These other gaskets swell to the point that they make contact with the floats and cause them to stick. I have had nothing but problems with them

If you are careful, you can trim these gaskets back and keep them away from the float. I've had to perform this surgery a couple times with success. Save the cash for more important issues. IMHO,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,RW

Thanks for the input, but I have already thrown them away. When I took off the bowl, they were 1/4" longer than when I put them in. Have to buy some new ones. Thanks.

Good luck on finding any which don't swell some.
I dry them and let the sun do it's job and I find they are good for a couple of installs. .............lm

Thanks LM. I'll keep that tip in mind for future reference.
