Picked up a 1966 CB77!

Thanks, I'll flip it around. Anything else you can pick out from the pics? It seems that the rear brake cable is adjusted all the way out, but from a quick glance it seems the arm is installed correctly on the cam. I will check that out in more depth. Any thoughts on the steering head bearing issue I raise in my first post or the chrome tab on the top triple tree on the left side?? Thanks, Phil Phil,
Looks pretty darned good. The passenger pegs should angle up instead of down. On the rear brake cable, could be that it needs new shoes. I recall that tab on the front fork top on some later bikes, but don't know what it's for -- maybe to mount some registration tag in some country? I'm sure someone on here will know. And I think your seat is aftermarket or has been re-done -- the flip-up on the front of the seat where it rises to meet the tank is more gradual than the original, that is, it extends further back on the seat, while the original had a more abrupt rise -- but it looks fine, and as long as it's comfortable, good until you go for best of show. -Kurt ... and tuck the condensor wire out of sight :-)
You'll see that the head fins are notched just inboard of the R/H carb, and then the wire was stuffed between two fins just above the intake to route it to the points cover. Take a look at some pics in the restoration forum, for one thing. Also I look at http://www.bikepics.com/honda/superhawk305/ not that they are all correct, but check this one, the condensor wire is hardly noticeable: http://www.bikepics.com/pictures/487022/ The brake arms will have a punch mark, that aligns with punch mark on splines, check to be sure they are properly aligned, you can move the arms one spline behind mark to take slack from cable. The chrome do-hicky on the forks is a helmet holder. Search this site, as I have posted the correct part # for the all balls taper bearing kit that will fit the CB77s. BTW beautiful bike, congrats !

Thanks. I just got it and haven't had any real time to spend on it, but I did think that wire was unsightly so I will tuck it out of the way. As far as the brakes go I do know about the punch marks, as my 71 CB750 has the same thing. What I did forget about is that the CB77 has two per wheel and sure enough the PO got the front one off by at least three teeth! So I can fix that now. I also found out that that was a helmet holder as I was lucky enough to find a PDF version of the parts manual and it was listed as such in there. Is there a PDF version of the shop manual floating around somewhere also? Thanks, Phil

I did search and found that the All Balls kit you mention is the same one my Parts guy said would fit. It is All Balls 22-1011. Thanks, Phil
