ID this solo seat?

Post by burvis » Thu Nov 12, 2009 5:54 pm

I bought a 1967 superhawk July 2008, and the seller tossed in a solo seat, calling it an aftermarket. Only recently, I decided to research the seat a little, and found an expired ebay listing where a guy was talking about an 'original Honda red foam solo seat' and wanting big bucks for it. It looked just like mine. And when I was taking these photos I noticed that the foam is red. Can't really read the little paper sticker on there. Do I have some rare Honda seat? Or just an aftermarket thing? It's in good shape in either case...

Looks like a copy (or maybe original?) of the CYB seat offered back in the day for CB77/72's.
The "suede" patch doesn't look like the others that I have seen (only photos) but the shape is definately right..........some of the more knowedgable and experienced hands here will be able to be more definate.
Hope that helps...........

The pan looks like OEM CYB, as does the foam (colour). Possibly re-covered judging by the way the vinyl looks like it's been attached.
