Starter Squeal

Post by Buck » Sun Aug 16, 2009 7:42 am

Replaced the springs, plungers and rollers on my starter clutch and still after the engine spins over a few times the clutch will slip and squeal.Hit the button again and it spins the engine over and it will then slip and squeal again. Any suggestions on how to fix this? I had another used clutch and put the new rollers and springs in it but still have the same problem. Anybody else had this problem?

Thanks for the offer Randy but my starter is fine,it's the starter clutch that squeals.

Just a shot in the dark here.
Did you install the retainer that holds the rotor sprocket in place?
